...or at least she was.
My dear friend Daniela came for a second round of visiting Newfoundland in May. She had been here once before-in December/January. For those of you native Newfoundlanders, you know that Dec/Jan is no time to be sight-seeing. Now, we can throw a great New Year's eve party and there's a few Christmas parties to be had in December month and trust me, she had her fill of parties. She was even screeched in on her first visit.
This visit was much more low key-less partying and more sight seeing. We went whale watching & to the museum & hiked a few trails with Eugene. We ate yummy foods and hung out with camp friends and talked camp. I even got to celebrate my birthday with her!
She's one of my favourite people and I'm so glad she came.
This photo was taken on the whale watching tour. We didn't see any whales but we did see icebergs and puffins. Many, many puffins. Most of all we just had a great time-laughing and giggling.
I used the Studio Calico kit 'Summer of '69'. I love the bright colors of this kit and this paper was tough to use because the other side was also just lovely but frankly, it matched her coat too perfectly! That doesn't usually matter to me but it was jumping out at me.
I used a doily-so not me. But I like it. It was a great anchor for my title & journaling.
There's also a few splatters of white Mr. Huey here and there and one of those awesome die cuts that have been appearing in kits lately. LOVE those.
I also used the buttons from the October Afternoon chipboard pack all in a row because there's a ton of them.
It was so nice to have her here. I have a ton of photos from her visit that I'm planning on using on a double page layout. I'm trying to figure out a creative way to do it though using some 2 by 3 & a few 4 by 6 photos. Look out pinterest!
Stay tuned for that!
