This month's kit from 'The Paperie' went live late last week so I thought I would share some of my projects here on the blog.
I was looking for something a little different for this kit. I wanted to do more than just make a few layouts or a mini-album so I searched my reliable Pinterest feeds and found a worthy project.
I've never actually made an explosion box but after finding this link on Pinterest I was sold. And that's where that little guy came from.
This kind of project is perfect for a large group of photos. I fit 12 2 by 2 photos here in my box. Just think about that number now. if you're doing '12 on 12' every month you could use this project one month. You could use it to showcase a years worth of photos-one each month. You could use it for 12 years of schooling. You could use it for the 12 days of Christmas. I used it for food-12 different things we ate while in Ottawa.
Yeah, I know what you are thinking and yeah, I'll admit it. We were big piggies in O-Town last month but frankly we wanted to visit all of our favourites and try a few new places besides. So that's just what we did-'when in Rome' and all that stuff!
I kept the box fairly simple, just adding some of the brown grid washi tape from Freckled Fawn and a bunch of the little punch out's from the My Mind's Eye sheet that came in the kit. I think the top of the box is my fav though.
I also made a few simple layouts with this kit.
This one came together with some old photos of my baby dog. This was when he was really a puppy dog. That photo on the far left was the first one we have of him. I wrote my journaling on the chevron tag and tucked it behind my photo. I pretty much fell in love with the stamp set and used that dotted line with the arrows over and over in my projects.
If you've been following my blog for any length of time you know that I love a selfie mirror shot-and this one is no exception. Is it perfect? Heck no. But, I love it.
This layout was quick and dirty. A few paper /washi tape strips, title, journaling and some of those awesome sayings from the My Mind's Eye sheet. You will also notice another appearance of that dotted/arrow stamp in the top left corner. Obsessed I tell you.
Then I made a few more complicated layouts.
I was inspired by the journaling tag here and sought out 10 pics from our trip to Ottawa and labeled each of them with a number from the Studio Calico Heyday letter set that came in the kit. Journaling is on the tag and I used an SC stamp set for the year & the 'adventures' in my title. Can you find that stamp again?!
I also made a layout inspired by one that I pinned from the SC layouts of the week recently. That one I'm saving for tomorrow with an explanation and instructions. But, here's a little sneak...
...with my little helper too.
Have a great Monday!
xoxo
