Guest Post: A Flair for Shopping

As mentioned in Tuesday's post, I'm taking a little blog vacation this week and have invited some friends to share on the blog for the next few days. 

Today one of my favorite ladies, Rae Lynn,  is here to give you a few shopping tips-or enable you. Whichever way you look at it, it's all good! Rae Lynn has a beautiful clean and simple style that she shares as a part of the design team at our local scrapbooking store. She also has a tendancy to get hooked on some scrappy goodness and buy ALL of it. Love it.

My name is Rae Lynn and I’m a shopaholic. I actually have a fancy sash (and pictures) to prove it. Yes, I was voted Most Likely to be a Shopaholic from my high school graduating class (and that was many moons ago).  

As a young girl I spent my hard-earned babysitting money buying stationary paper and craft stuff. And during my teenage years, it was clothing and shoes. So there was a very natural progression to becoming a scrapbooking shopaholic. I’ll be the first to admit that I have purchased more scrapbooking stuff than I will ever use in two lifetimes, but I honestly love finding new product, purchasing it, and fondling it when I get home. (You know you do it too!)  And the rush of online shopping is twofold – clicking the Submit button on a cart load of scrapbooking product and then again when your goodies show up in the mail.  Who else loves their “happy mail?”

Anyway, I’ll let you in on my latest weakness … Flair Buttons.  Yes, those tiny, colourful, shiny one-inch metal buttons that are all the rage in the scrapbooking world right now.  

I picked up a few packages here and there at our local scrapbooking store, The Paperie. But I then happened upon a few little online shops that carry the sweetest assortment of flair:  

·         The first is an Etsy shop called A Flair for Buttons, which has a large assortment of buttons packaged in theme sets of 6 or 8 buttons. The shop owner also offers you an a la cart selection of  6, 8, 10, or 12 buttons from any prepackaged set.  In addition to the themed sets that I bought, I also made a personal set of flair buttons of hearts (shown above).  

·         The second shop is ShopEvalicious.com. This Canadian shop has great flair buttons, paper tags, and stamps. I was surprised when they showed up in my mail only 4 days after I ordered them. 

Anyway, that’s enough about me and my shopping habits. I have a few snippets from my layouts to prove that I use my flair buttons.
