So we've had a busy week. We bought a house last week and are planning on moving into it this coming Saturday. Oh yeah, and it's Christmas time. We must be nuts.
But, last night I carved out a few hours to put together my December 1st and 2nd pages for my December Daily. They obviously focus around our renovations and labour we are putting in at the new house. I suspect that there might be a lot of that this coming week. It seems to be all-consuming.
Just a little background info on my album. I put together an opening page with last year's freebie on Ali's site. I just covered the date at the bottom of the page. I made a little boo-boo on the front number and colored it red but it didn't match and I had to reprint the number '31' and use pop dots of cover the problem.
On the other side I taped a calendar to the outside of the page protector and added a little stamp from an Ali Edwards set from eons ago. I plan to add little details to the calendar as the month goes on.
Here's the first page.
I printed off a large hipstagram picture of our house with the
'sold' sign on it after photoshopping it black and white. A few little photos and some journaling were added to the larger photo. Then I embossed a little Maya Road house and found a cute little embellishment that said 'home for the holidays'.
It seemed fitting as this is our new home.
December 2nd's layout was supposed to be a double page layout but it didn't work out because the pictures I had didn't lend themselves to this structure. So, I just added a little Jillibean star, another embossed house and a little brad to the first page. On the second page I took out the pattern paper and used it as my matte with Ali's designer digital 'December Daily pages'.
I added 'a good day' because it certainly was productive-we painted two bedrooms and the bathrooms basically.
A little banner on it added a nice touch and some handwritten journaling at the bottom. We decked the halls in a different kind of way on Friday.
Hopefully I'll get 03 & 04 done in the next few days. I'm not worried about 'keeping up' right now. It's enough to keep life on track with the new house, work and the holidays fast approaching.
