Saying Goodbye

Saying goodbye to summer has always been a little sad for me. The end of summer always marks the end of another season of summer camp. I'm sad to see summer go but I am proud of myself for surviving a summer without camp. Honestly, in June when everyone was heading up to orientation and unpacking their campers I didn't know if I could do it. There were some tears and long lonely afternoons for a while there.  But, here I am on the other end and I think I'm better for it.

Now that doesn't mean I didn't miss it. Or that I didn't scrapbook it.

I dug up a few old photos from last summer and made this layout in a moment of weakness a few weeks ago as camp was ending.

I used a combination of a number of kits and leftovers that were lying around. I still love these orange thickers even if they are a little older. And of course a little washi tape had to make an appearance.

Usually I hide my journaling but I wrote my journaling right on the page for this layout. I've been doing more of that lately, being inspired by Maggie Holmes. It's quick and I don't have to go back and type anything up afterwards. I'm learning to embrace the imperfections of my handwriting in lieu of speed.

Last but not least, I love this little badge that came with a recent kit that I worked with from 'The Paperie'. There's some exciting things coming up at 'The Paperie' with their kit club. Stay tuned and check out their blog for all the details on their Fall schedule.
