Here we are again. Another Friday. I, for one, am happy it's the weekend. Any big plans for you this weekend?!
1. I recently started watching Veronica Mars. After seeing Kristen Bell on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon last week I want to see the movie. But first, I need to watch the first three seasons of the show.
2. Elise Blaha's second MAKE29 project goes live tomorrow. You better believe that I'll be nabbing this one too-wooden ampersands. I'm thinking I'll have to make room on my gallery wall for this one. Or add it to our living room decor.
3. I found this idea on Pinterest and it is really appealing to me. It's also another use for my silhouette. I need to add some plants to my decor. We've been filling the house with more flowers lately and they are really getting me in the spring mood. Now, if only the weather would cooperate.
4. Also totally obsessed with this video.
5. These Milktapes might be the cutest thing ever. A mixtape that's actually a USB stick?! Seriously? Adorable.
Have a wonderful weekend! I'm hoping for spring temperatures & clear blue skies with a dose of sunshine tossed in there. A girl can dream right?!
xoxo

Five for Friday

*A sneak peek at the scrapbooking room makeover. Hoping to post the before & after's tomorrow. Stay tuned!
1. I'm anxiously awaiting this print to arrive in my mailbox. So excited I nabbed one of Elise Blaha Cripe's MAKE29 letterpress prints! I can't wait to frame it for the scrapbooking room.
2. I want this new Instax printer! Without a doubt I am getting it in April.
3. I was truly inspired when reading this post last week on the A Beautiful Mess blog. Wow. She's a brave girl. I loved this.
4. Dear Lizzy threw a Valentine's craft last month in honour of the happy heart day. It looked spectacular. And it got me thinking. Just saying! ;) Check it out on her blog.
5. I'm thinking of making these for brunch with some friends of ours on Saturday! Don't they look delicious?!

Five For Friday: I'm 'Holiday' Inspired
This time of year I always get super inspired. I also seem to have very little time to complete said inspiring projects. I did, however, want to share some of the projects around the internets that are inspired me this past season that I'm going to try and do before the next one rolls around!
1. I am so doing this in the new year to a sweatshirt or a sweater. I see my new Silhouette Cameo coming in very handy for this project!
2. This Santa Sack is basically amazing. I want to make one so bad. Not sure I'll get around to it but if I do I'll be sure to post it here on the blog! I have a feeling a few lucky kiddos might be getting a little Christmas package in 2014.
3. If this isn't stunning for a mantel during the holiday season I don't know what is. Note to self-learn to use a drill in 2014 to make cool stuff like this. Seriously?! I L.O.V.E this. Those gals at A Beautiful Mess have my number guys. I'm already making a list of things from their site to make in 2014.
4. I need to make some sort of chalkboard wall, art, frame-whatever. I keep seeing cool ideas on Pinterest and I desperately want to recreate that chalkboard look somewhere in my home.
5. I am dying to do a little woodland-themed Christmas tree in my dining room. Kind of like this one on Pinterest. I bought half a dozen furry owl ornaments last year that I love to pieces and I want to do a white, silver & woodland creatures tree. I went on the hunt for ornaments in the Boxing day sales and found some more to add to my collection for next year!
What's inspiring you right now? It's never to early to start creating for the next holiday! ;)

5 For Friday
1. This week I downloaded the ifontmaker app. It's very neat. I made a few fonts- check out this one use code 3375- but I also found a few that I really liked. Check this one out. It's neat.
2. We've been watching an obscene amount of The Wire after discovering it on HBO on demand. We're on Season 4 and it is so good.
3. I got a haircut. A very necessary haircut. I don't color my hair so I find that I let it grow and grow for far too long. But, it's nice and refreshing to have a haircut!
4. Have I mentioned how much I love Elise Blaha and her blog? Yes, maybe a million times already. She had a post up this week about her 'mornings' and it just made me yearn for summer. I can't wait to maintain a more consistent morning schedule -my days are so random due to the nature of being a substitute teacher so I'm looking forward to a summer of consistent routine and I'm sure Eugene is too. He gets tugged around so often because sometimes it's a work day and sometimes it's not.
5. I pinned this pin on pinterest this week. They are technically little cards from Basic Grey's latest lines-hipster is my new fav- but I'm thinking of using them as posters in the scrapbooking room once it's painted. Add them to your PL folder for safe keeping!

Five for Friday
First of all, I've been the WORST blogger as of late. March just kind of started and has continued at warp speed for me and blogging fell through the cracks. But, I'm determined to get back on track next week. Stay tuned for what's to come-here's a little 5 for Friday preview of it in fact.
1. This past weekend was spent with the lovely Kelly Purkey. She taught classes at The Paperie & stayed with us at our humble abode. Eugene basically fell in love. I've been usurped. If i'm going to fall to the #2 spot on his list KP is a choice I can live with as #1. More on her visit on Monday.

2. I have layouts to share next week of the February KTOL class that I gave on Thursday night.
3. And I have pics of Saturday's 'Dear Lizzy' Daybook that I crammed into a three hour class. More on that story next week.
4. I have a list of home DIY projects a mile long. Included on it are 1.) striping and staining an antique wash stand, 2.) Priming and painting a new french door for the scrapbooking room, 3.) ordering more hardwood to lay in the hall and scrapbooking room. Gonna get to business this weekend on some of it.

5. I'm getting ready for my March KTOL class, Easter camp kids class & my upcoming 'Create a Kit' class in April. If you're local, call The Paperie to inquire about dates and sign up!
Now, let's get this weekend started.

Happy Monday.
I've been MIA.
My DIY life has taken over my scrapbooking life. True story.
We've laid hardwood two weekends in a row now and between the hauling up of the carpet and tack strips and the laying of the hardwood we've been busy. I also managed to squeeze in the re-upholstering of a new queen ann bench and finished the layouts for the February 'Keeping Track of Life'. And I also worked on my project for the kids Easter Vacation class. Throw in a new novel that I can't get enough of. Busy, busy.
So here's a little 'Five for Monday':
1. Here's a peek of the the hardwood in the spare room.

Eugene liked to watch-until the hardwood nailer came out.
2. Here's a sneak of the layouts for the class.

3. This is my latest Kijiji find. Yes, antique wash stand. Can you see the potential?

4. Reading this right now. Honestly, if you have a pet-specifically a dog-this is for you.
Bring your tissues though.

5. I also worked on the kids Easter vacation class that I'll be teaching in April.

5 For Friday
1. Well, it's been a day of rest & relaxation-for some of us-around these parts. We were pummeled here in Newfoundland with a snowstorm that left some 70+ cm behind. Mother Nature really gave us a good taste of winter. But, Eugene loved it. We ventured out last night when the storm began & then again this morning for some shoe shoe action.
*at the park last night...

*this morning's snow shoe adventure.
2. I'm working on a little video tutorial for my upcoming 'Keeping up with Life' class at The Paperie. I've also got a few freebies that I've made which I'll be putting up on the blog for those of you who are looking for some Project Life pieces to print out.
3. I found a great article for anyone looking to be happier. And really who isn't looking to be happier?! I read The Happiness Project a few years ago and loved it. I also watched the documentry 'Happy' last weekend so when I noticed Ali retweet this article I knew that I had to read it. Take a few minutes and read it.
4. I saw a beautiful blog post today when trolling through my blogs. Design Darling is a blog I visit for style ideas. It inspired me to make flowers more of an everyday things around here. Don't you love the peonies?!
5.Are you enjoying all of the CHA reveals? I certainly am. But, honestly, I'm just excited that the dates for distribution for the pieces I like are are actually sooner than later.
Enjoy your weekend.

Five for Friday
1. Everyone's talking 'Project Life' this week. Ali posted her most recent week, MaryAnn had a video up on her blog identifying all her favorite products for 'Project Life' & I've happened on a host of other people who are working on their 'Project Life' albums this week as well. So, I thought I would share where I'm at in my 'Project Life' album as well.

Yep, just got the photos in the mail-finally. Shutterfly is ubber slow to my neck of the woods here in Canada. I got the page protectors while I was at camp-had them delivered in upstate New York and I am ready to put this thing together. I desperately want one of these for this project as well.

I'm setting myself a goal for my 'Project Life' right here and now on the blog so that I am accountable to it!
Goal: By June 24 (date of departure to NY for summer camp) I will be up to date to June 17.
That means I have to do:
*layout of the month for February, March, April & May
*slot in all the printed photos and date and journal the IMPORTANT events that have happened
*a little embellishment wouldn't hurt
*organize the layouts I've completed for each month and include them in the album
Making that list made me realize that I have a lot of work to do. Guess I better get started this weekend huh?!
2. Today is reveal day at Studio Calico for subscribers. I think my list for items this month is longer than it's ever been. I'm just hoping my little fingers can move quick enough to get all the product I want.
3. My husband gives the BEST gifts. He is great at remembering random things that I say and keeping them in his head for special moments. This week I celebrated my birthday and he gave me a Canon remote control for my SLR. I'm super excited about it.

4. Found this on pinterest and am obsessed with this idea. Might have to do this SOON.

5. This weekend I'm running in the Ottawa Race Weekend Half Marathon. I've been training for 12 weeks now and I AM READY. Bring it. I've got my magic jelly beans packed. My tank top & shorts all clean and ready to go. The GPS is charged and the ipod is loaded with some great motivational tunes. Best of all, after it's all done I get to eat homemade crab cakes and Wavy Lays potato chips-not necessarily together or in that order mind you. But seriously, can you tell I exercise to eat?! I'm planning on doing a before/after scrapbook page with some journaling about my feelings on on the race. I think it will be fun to look back on down the road.
Bonus: This week I took a little jewelery class at a store called FLOCK. It was a lot of fun and apparently not only am I a quick study, but I can mass produce earrings like nobody's business. In a three hour class I made 12 pairs of earrings.
So, I have two pairs to giveaway here on the blog. They are for pierced ears so I'm sorry if your little ears are not pierced. But you could always give them to a friend! Here's a picture of a few pairs. I'll send the winners better pics so they can pick which ones they want.

Have a great weekend!

Five for Friday
It's Friday! TGIF! I love Fridays more than anything-a whole weekend ahead of you and the anticipation of all that's to come! Love it. Here's this week's 'Five for Friday':
1. I’m kind of obsessed with Gerelyn’s work. She does some cool stuff! These tags are fun and I’m thinking about doing a mini-album with them for a long weekend trip to NY that’s coming up next weekend. It might be a fun take on ‘Scrapbook on the Road’.
2. National Scrapbooking Day is tomorrow. Studio Calico is doing some fun things on their site and I’ve signed up for the Big Picture+Creating Keepsakes collaboration that’s happening over on the Big Pictures Classes site. What are you doing for National Scrapbooking day?
3. I think this weekend I’m going to make some cards. I NEVER make cards. So, this weekend while I scrapbook I am going to take the time to make some cards out of the scraps from my pages. Studio Calico had a great sketch this week for cards-I'm feeling inspired.
4. There’s a beautiful layout over over on the Crate paper blog this week. There’s even a technique for giving a ‘vintage’ effect to your letter stickers. I like it-but it’s a lot of work! Maybe I’ll try it this weekend! Who knows?
5. The movie "Something Borrowed" came out today. It's based on a book by Emily Giffin which I loved. It's been a lonnnnggg time since I saw a great chick flick at the movie theatre. I may take some time out from running & scrapbooking this weekend to see it.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Five for Friday
1. I bought a cool new app for my iphone called pocketbooth. It's amazing! I can tell it will come in handy! Here's a strip of shots I took at recess today!

2. I caught these snapshots Wednesday night. Busted! That would be the ice cream container from the ice cream maker in his hands-yes, he's eating out of the bowl like a small child. I can't scold him because let's face it-we've all been there!

3. M & I cleaned out our closets last night. He found $65 in a pair of pants. Made the chore much less painful!
4. I ran 4 miles yesterday at 9 minutes. I have had an awesome running week this week. Tuesday I ran my 10km in well under an hour. I ran my 5km in well under a half hour. I'm getting faster which will make running with M for the half-marathon MUCH easier!
5. This weekends scrapbooking to do list looks a little like this:
*catch up on project life (It's still in February-limbo)
*work on sketch #3,4, & 5
*scrap a layout using mist and some punches for a cool background
*maybe print some of the Montreal pics to scrapbook
I'm hoping for a productive weekend. Wish me luck tonight with the Bachelorette party! I'm sure it will be a blast!

5 For Fridays
1. I am currently obsessed with Kelly Purkey. Not in a creepy way. She came onto my radar in a paperclipping roundtable episode recently and she joined Studio Calico last month in a part time position which of course includes being a design team member. I stalked her blog this past week and discovered that we could be best friends if I lived in New York City. She is a fan of ice cream and cupcakes, all things NYC and she has an odd love of baseball games. I, too, love all of these things. She's also 27 and gets to be selfish and scrapbook about her travels and her friends/boys. She pretty much rocks. Go check her out. Here's one of her sneaks for this months kit.
2. This stamp looks amazing in the new studio calico kit. It might show up in my Christmas cards this year!
3. Speaking of Christmas cards, I discovered this paper by Jillibean soup this week and am obsessed with it. This will find a way into my house.
4. I want new black boots that look like Cowboy boots on bottom and normal boots up top. I have yet to find them-if you see any boots like them please tell me.
5. I love Lisa Leonards designs but I'm thinking I might make my own with a few old Making Memories charms I have left over from an old Valentines line.
Happy Friday!
xoxo
