I Made a Mess

This month at Simple Scrapper our March Assignment was to use a journaling card in place of a picture. So, using a sketch template from February 2011 in the Premium Members Archive, I came up with this layout.

I used a combination of elements from Studio Calico's Boardwalk kit and bits and pieces from my stash in an effort to get rid of some of my stash of scraps. I like the teal & red color combo here-it's something I wouldn't normally try. I arranged my photos into a grid with some pattern paper and tied the twine around it to mimic the bakers twine you find on cake boxes. A few strips of washi tape and a little fiskars boarder punch helped anchor the journaling block and the photo grid.

For my journaling I used a combination of Basic Grey letter stickers and little stamps. I also made a washi covered cardstock heart which was punched using a fiskars 'heart' punch. A simple title with the focus on 'mess' completed the project.
