Mojo Monday

This weekend I had a chance to sit down and participate in The Paperie's Mojo Monday challenge. Each Monday they post a challenge on their blog and their facebook page and you have the week to get your pages or cards completed. This week's challenge was a sketch from pagemaps. I love a good sketch so I just had to play along. You can see the sketch here.

Here's my take:



I cracked open a new SC kit, Brooklyn Flea, for this layout but I used a bunch of different things from my stash to add to it as well. The red plaid paper seemed to work just perfectly with Liam's red stripes shirt. The yellow mat in the photos made for a perfect accent color with a little washi tape and pattern paper. I tried to make my title 'jump' off the page by layering some of the letters on top of one another to mimic the action in the photos. I also wanted to indicate how old Liam was but wanted to try something a little different than just a little label. So I added that number strip from a Studio Calico + Sassafras collaboration from an older kit. Then I traced the '4' putting a little circular element around it and added little red Jillibean letters for 'month'.



The journaling reads: Oh Baby Liam! You just love your jolly jumper. Stick that thing in a doorway and you will jump forever! Your dad says you're prepping for your b-ball career!

This kid just loves to jump!
