I've been working on a little something to chronicle all of our summer adventures.
It all started when Ali posted her Summer Manifesto. The idea started floating around the blogisphere and started popping up in Pinterest and I knew it was something that I had to participate in. So I made a long, extensive list of all the things I would *LIKE* to do this summer. As I've mentioned before, this summer will be very different because I will be home with M & E-a big change from my summers spent at camp in NY. So here's what I came up with:
And of course, if there's a list there must be a project in which to chronicle it all.
Ali debuted her project yesterday- it's simple and hybrid. But, I wanted something that would stretch my creativity and that I could just add to as we go. And so this became my little summer project:
I used Amy Tangerine's little spiral bound book from her Sketchbook line by American Crafts. I love the idea of a mix of papers and bits and pieces making their way into this album. I let the cover be a little messy and eclectic- which is not normally me! Of course I used some washi there too!
The inside cover was plain kraft but I wanted something to jazz it up. So I hauled out my new dilution sprays-which I love by the way, thanks Sara-and misted a little and colored some chipboard pieces.
I even found a little doggie paperclip that was perfect to make a little family pic. I mounted it all on a tag on top of a little doilie I had lying around and I like the way it looks when you open the cover.
So the plan is to use my Instax and print pictures with my Selphi for this project. I'm setting it up on my back table in the hopes that it will get more use because it doesn't get nearly enough use right now. I'm not planning on being discriminatory about the events and happenings that make it into this book-some will be from the Summer Manifesto and others will be random things we do/I take pictures of!
I'm looking forward to filling this book with our summer adventures! Are you doing anything to chronicle your summer? Any big or little plans?!
xoxo
