Hello NYC!

Last weekend I taught a 3 hour Daybook class for the Kelly Purkey weekend of classes at The Paperie.

To say I was overzealous was an understatement. I've never taught a mini-album class to such a big group of adults but I learned from my mistakes. I actually scrapbooked the whole Daybook while I should have done a skeleton with techniques and then finished it off with pics + titles myself at home.

So, I improvised and we tried to get all the pages done and I suggested that pictures and words/titles be added after the class. I also emailed out pics and instructions after the class.

Here's the album.

We got through it but it was fast paced and somewhat stressful for me. I'm a loosey-goosey eye-baller type when it comes to measurements but some people are not. Measurements are not my thing for sure and I always find it interesting when class participants want the exact measurements. I am particular in some areas of my life so I get it on one level, that's just not how I scrapbook but power to those who pay that close attention! God, bless 'em!

The theme of my album was our foodie adventures in NYC this past November. And we had a lot. I didn't even include all of them. My favourite thing that I used were the Kelly Purkey 'food stamps' and the My Girl American Crafts thickers-the white & black outline ones. The Daybook was awesome to use because of the spiral bound aspect of it. I liked that it could expand without pushing the limits of the book.

Happy hump day!

xoxo

  1. Oh, gosh, I love it all! I have some Dear Lizzy and Amy Tan daybooks but I just can't seem to bring myself to use them because they're already so pretty. =)
