I've been absent. I know. I've been busy. But onto the scrapbooking.
The Paperie revealed a new card kit at the retreat weekend last weekend and I was lucky enough to work with it. I created four 8 1/2 by 11 pages using the kit-and I am currently in the middle of an envelope mini-album that's not quite done yet!
The first layout I made I wanted to jazz up the plain white background so I used one of my few stencils and some ink to create the chevron print. I couldn't help but add a few droplets of mist as well as a spray here and there.
I used one fo the kraft tags included in the kit to stamp and emboss the 'howdy' tab from the Ali Edwards stamp set that came in the kit. I combined it with a little star pin by Maya Road and one of the cute little brads from Prima. The thickers weren't part of the kit but they fit well with the theme and let's face it-we all have a stash of letters at home that we can use!
I anchored my photos with a little pattern paper, some washi at the bottom and twine because I love the dimension that twine provides.
These photos were begging to be scraped. My best friend Allison is great at catching important moments of my God son Liam's life so I don't miss a beat. Her blog provides us with endless entertainment of his adventures. I sent some books up with a little card for my favourite little person and she snapped a few shots of him opening them! The kid loves books! Nothing wrong with that! I'm super excited to be taking a little trip to see them this summer!
For the next layout I grabbed some photos from last fall that I still hadn't scrapped. I added some droplets of mist to the red cardstock background. I chopped the kraft tag into two pieces so I could do a little layering.
I used more of those little star pins under a popped photo- I just stuck them into the dimensional square. And used another one of the stamps, trimmed as a little tab. Those were really nice.
*Thickers & letter stickers not included in the kit.
And no layout is complete without a flag or two. I used a comination of the pattern papers in the kit to create these. A few brads and a stamped sentiment and I called it done.
M was insistent that Eugene be a bee for Halloween this year. I love a group theme costume so I had the challenge of figuring out how to make our costumes jive with Eugene's. Why not Winnie the Pooh & a honey pot?! Yep. Homemade costumes- a hipster Winnie the Pooh & a honey pot. Let's just say that dancing without arms, in a honey pot, is as ridiculously hilarious as it sounds.
I'll be back tomorrow with two more layouts and details to share.
