Favourite Reads of 2013
I read some great books this year. I started the year off slow but I discovered that reading on the Ipad rocks. No more lamplight in the bed!
Wehad two great, relaxing vacations this year the enabled me to devour multiple books pool or beach side & that is something I hope to do more of this coming year. A few friends and I also initiated a book club in September. It's been a hit with a mix of people from all different backgrounds. It's been fun and interesting hearing what everyone else likes to read.
So it goes without saying that I had an awesome Summer & Fall of reading.
The books above are some of my favs from this year-honestly, it was hard to chose!
Tuesdays With Morrie, Mitch Albom: Gave me my 'one little word' for the year. Touched my heart & soul.
Wonder, R.J Palacio: Amazing read. Great for young adult readers. I laughed, I cried. It was beautiful.
The Rosie Project, Graeme Simsion: Loved. I read it over the summer but my friends in bookclub are reading in now! I can't wait to find out what they think.
The Fault in Our Stars, John Green: Lovely & it's going to be a movie in June. Can't wait to see it.
The Art of Racing in the Rain, Garth Stein: Made me love Eugene even more. My heart broke when I read this book.
Love Anthony, Lisa Genova: I love her books. I truly enjoy them despite their serious medical undertones.
A Beautiful Mess Photography book, Emma & Elsie:Awesome coffee table book but also packed with ideas!
The Things That Matter, Nate Berkus: This book was like design porn people. I'm a huge Nate fan & have been forever. This dud has my number when it comes to DIY so I devoured this book over the holidays and am armed with a list of ideas for my home in 2014.
I have a long list of books that I'm looking forward to reading this winter especially a number that are hitting the big screen. I'm always intrigued to see what Hollywood comes up with for popular books. It's never as good as my own imagination but I like to see them none the less.
I'll be back with a review & some recommendations in the spring.
