On a whim Friday night I decided to start my December Daily. At first it was just putting together the shell with the combination of pages. That turned into making the cover. Yesterday afternoon I couldn't help myself and started putting the pages together. Last night I finished it. It's DONE and I LOVE it! I'm going to do the development of my album in stages à la Ali Edwards.
I used a basic 8 by 8 album by American Crafts for my album this year. I included a variety of pages inside including:
*page protectors
*Hambly transparencies
*envelopes (both homemade and bought)
*chipboard
*clear acrylic pages
*Prima Canvas pages
*7 Gypsies pockets
*Jenni Bowlin Bingo card
*Starbucks packaging
This year's theme was red, white and blue. In the past two years I've done a red, white and black theme so this year I went for something different and a little less traditional. This is the preliminary stages of the cover.
Here's the finished product.
I think my favourite part is the 'december' in the cursive alphabet stamp from Studio Calico. I also have a deep love for those Jillibean corrugated alphas and numbers. A little mist turned the tag from bland to interesting and the postage stamp chipboard piece from naked to red. I think the Studio Calico Mr. Huey has been my favourite product throughout the making of my December Daily. It will be available through their site mid-november. You can bet I'll be ordering a few as early Christmas gifts.
I'm also in love with that snowman paper from Jillibean's holiday line. I used it for another Chrsitmas project as well.
Coming Next: A look at the inside cover and a few of my favourite pages.
