Playing Catch Up

I've been a bad blogger. I've been working like a busy bee in my free time on a project that was due yesterday for my M. Ed course. It's finished and submitted! So, now I will have time to craft and scrapbook! So excited!

So here's a few random things to get you caught up on the latest in my lovely life-adventures!

*I'm reading 'Cake Boss'. It's amazing. The show on TLC is a hoot. I love Buddy and his sisters, especially Grace and Mary! I love cake and I love to read so this was what I reached for each night before bed this past week. To say I had a few dreams about cake was an understatement! I'm going to go visit Carlo's Bakery when I'm in New York this summer and I can't wait! I'm the worst tourist too-all gushy and stuff. My husband is glad he doesn't have to share the experience with me because undoubtedly he would end up embarrassed by me!

*I found another great blog this week called "A Cup of Joe". Not scrapbooking related but the writer seems fun and cool and has this awesome blog post about cheese. I love cheese.

This post is turning out to be all about food so it's only fitting that I have a layout made with the "Candy Shop" kit from Studio Calico that I finally finished.

I used the Studio Calico cloud stamp with some Mustard embossing ink to create the gold for the pot o' gold at the end of the rainbow! I used a circle punch and a star punch to make the pot. It adds a little something whimsical to the page I think.

And a few close ups...

These pictures are ancient. They are from our first month here in Ottawa in 2007. We're very lucky to have a whole bunch of our Newfoundland friends who also moved here with us for their own jobs.

*I am teaching this class next week so this weekend I have lots of prep work to do. I'm excited to teach this one because it's more of a multimedia project than a scrapbooking layout. Also, kids are always impressed by embossing and inking and stamping!

*I have a long run tomorrow, a 7-miler, and a trip to the grocery store but beyond that I'm devoting my day to some serious scrapbooking. I just need to touch the paper and play! I can't wait!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

xoxo
