Redo: Bedside Table

So this past week I discovered painting furniture.

I thought I would experiment with M's old bedside table. It's a little Walmart special from his days as a child and it served as the perfect subject for my experiment.

So down to the basement it came and after picking my my new orbital sander and some supplies I got to work.

But, I decided that it was better to work amidst the snow in the driveway instead of the basement. So I dragged it outdoors and sanded her down.

And then I primed it with a primer spray paint. Next time I'll use paint can primer I think. There were a number of drips with the spray paint and I had to work to sand those out once that coat dried.

Two coats of 'cloud white' paint and a new piece of hardware and we have this.

A before and after: check that business out!

Stay tuned because this isn't the last furniture re-do for me. In fact this is my next piece.

I'll be back with more!

  1. The white is so fresh. The silver drawer pull updates it even more. Isn't it great to DIY projects in your home?
