Ottawa was...

...amazing in a nutshell.

If you follow my blog you'll know that this little guy came home with us to complete our little family.

But, there were all kinds of other highlights that I want to share as well.

Like on Thursday when Allison & Liam met us at the airport-I've never been more excited to descend that escalator.

We spent the afternoon shopping- I got an awesome pair of wedges for next to nothing- and then stopped by Hintonburger for a late lunch- and of course we picked up some dinner for Paul.

After a pit stop at Mike's to meet their new family member, Kobe, and greet Mark, who came to stay for the weekend from Toronto, Allison & I got ready for a night out with the girls for Sarah's birthday. On the way to the party we stopped for doughnuts at Suzy Q's-the new spot in town. Then headed onward to Sarah's party where she had a nail party by the girls of ........... I had them do a chevron design with lavendar & gray on my nails. It looked awesome and held up really well.

Friday morning I had an awesome run-7 miles- through downtown Ottawa where the sun was shining and there wasn't a cloud in the sky.

For lunch we headed to 'Whalesbone' for the best fish and chips in town and a few drinks before stopping by Herb & Spice for some bison burgers- a first for me- to cook for dinner. Then we hung out at Mike's just chilling for the afternoon and had a BBQ. Allison, Paul & Baby Liam even came by to ave dinner and hang out with us.

Saturday morning we headed out to Allison & Paul's- but we hit a small snag first. We got a flat tire. Now, watching these three change a tire was a lot less stressful than I imagined but it did get me thinking of jokes beginning with 'So an engineer and two Computer science nerds get out of the car to change a tire...". Seriously. I spent the whole time giggling and taking pictures as they worked out the details to get us back on the move. From there we headed to Brockville to get our Eugene. Then back to Allison & Paul's for some puppy time before heading to the Centretown record Challenge at Mel & Dave's. Most of our Ottawa friends got to meet our new boy.

puppyday

Sunday was spent celebrating the Easter Bunny & hanging out in the burbs with Allison & Paul and our favorite little men-Liam & Eugene-who kept imitating one another with their army crawls and their yells. Lots of walks and playtime ensued that day.

Monday we had to reluctantly head home with our new puppy and say goodbye to some of our favorite people. Eugene was a champ in his plane carrier and slept the whole way- through both plane trips.

It was so nice to see all of our friends. As much as we love living at home in Newfoundland, we do miss our Ottawa friends- A LOT. But, I'm comforted knowing that in July I'll be flying up to see everyone again and staying ossibly for a few weeks before celebrating our friends wedding in August.
