This Town

The weather around here has been cold and dreary. Dude I am so ready for Spring.

I'm actually ready for summer-or at least summer weather. So, I'm reliving our trip to Vegas in november when it was 25 during the day and a balmy 15 at night. Those were some lovely days.



I took my friend Rae Lynn's advice on this layout and used up a project life card for my title. It's a great way to use leftover or favourite cards on layouts. They aren't just great for PL spreads. Check out her class at The Paperie this month for using PL cards in layouts!

Now, onto the layout. The title card is obviously a reference to Frank Sinatra's 'This Town'. I do love that song. And it's Vegas personified in my opinion. Also, it was featured in ocean's & we know how I feel about those movies.



Just a simple layout with some leftover pics that didn't make it into my travel album.  I realized I made a mistake and put 'Eataly' on the card with the Olive Oil Gelato from Otto. Oops. Mario Batali just has so many restaurants going on. Maybe he should open up an Eataly there too!? Have to fix that little flub I guess.

I'm hoping to share the travel album next week with some tips on using project life products & project life-style spreads for travel albums.

Sign me up!

Back again today with another layout from an old SC kit.

More old pics from KP weekend. They were in the kit bag so that's what got used. I think that might be the last of 'em folks!



Trying another 8 1/2 by 11 here with a little strip of photos. I'm loving the yellow polka dots with the turquoise letters with a pop of red. I think it's a beautiful bright combo!

An Insta-Memory

So I have a process when I scrapbook with kits where by I take out the kit contents and then I rifle through my pictures to find ones that match the theme or the color scheme of the kit.

So when I carved out some time to scrapbook recently I pulled out a half-killed kit and discovered a pile of pictures that I had already stowed away for it. Easy.

And that explains this layout. These pics were taken using my Fugi Instax camera when KP came to teach at The Paperie.



A few butterflies and some pattern blocking here. I even used one of Kelly's stamps 'Hello weekend'. I also love the unusual combo of mustard yellow + pale green- not one I'd usually go for but sort of enjoyed!

Happy Hump Day!

This layout has taken forever to put together. It's not for lack of inspiration or creativity. I had all the ideas but I've been laid up on the couch for days battling a cold.

So here it is. I used the Who's Who kit from Studio Calico.



The layout above and this layout are a perfect example of how versatile these kits can be. If you take a look at both layouts you'll notice they have some similar things in common but there were two totally different layouts that came out of that packet of supplies. Pretty cool huh?!

So I tried something a little different in this layout. I changed up my photos a little and used a 6*8 for my focal point and punched 6 circles out of 2*3 photos. I was channeling Susan Weinroth with this design. That girl loves circles!



I broke up my circle photos into two sections-a few posed shots on top of the journaling block and some sequenced action shots below. I also aimed to place them in a grid-like format. I really focused on design with this layout.
