I spent the afternoon and most of my evening scrapbooking on Saturday to celebrate National Scrapbooking day. I loaded my 'idea book' up with challenges and sketches on Friday night and got myself organized to optimize my scraping time!
I had a goal of 9 layouts and I managed to create 7 of them and a few cards to boot .The eighth layout is still in pieces on my scrapbooking table and should be ready to share sometime this week.
So, here's what I managed to finish.
This was my warm up. I used this sketch & challenged myself to a multi-photo layout. It's all the leftover photos that were sitting on my table from the mini-album I made last week of our Montreal trip.

Then I tried my hand at an 81/2 by 11 page-something that I need to work on. Journaling is tucked behind the photo that was taken with my iphone. I used this sketch & was motivated by this challenge to use several different fonts on a layout.
Then there's this one. It came together really quickly. Used this sketch & this challenge to use fabrips and washi tape. This tells the story of our confusion finding the outlet mall during our road trip. Mr. iphone solved our dilemma, don't worry!
Then there's this one. I have all these photos of of me in the mirror. Sometimes there's nobody around to take that shot-so I use the mirror instead! I used this sketch & this challenge to use a stamp for the background. I used the dress form stamp from Studio Calico on the yellow background paper to jazz it up a little.
This one is my favorite. I LOVE it. It's totally out of my comfort zone but I just love how it turned out. That's my friend Daniela in the photo. She's been my coworker at camp for years now and we have so much fun together. She's just the best friend a girl could ask for! I used this sketch for this one.
and a close up...
This one is the only double pager that I did on Saturday. We stopped at Old Orchard Beach on the way to Portland, Maine during our road trip this spring. It wasn't a planned stop but it's one of my favorite moments of our trip. I used this sketch and this challenge to use aqua, tangerine, kraft & lime green. At first I was skeptical of the combo but I like the way it turned out.
and a close up...I really like the size and colour of those American Crafts letter stickers.
Then I took a break & went to see 'Something Borrowed'. It was your typical chick flick but it was very cute!
When I got back I made a few cards based on this week's Studio Calico sketch.
and these just for fun...
This one is nearly done-it just needs some journaling before I'm ready to display it in all it's glory.
And this is the current state of my scrapbooking table. That's number eight being pieced together over there.
So I've been a busy bee! Stay tuned later this week for the complete reveal of #7 & #8. Maybe I'll get to #9 before the week is out!
Happy Monday!
xoxo
